Windows that stick, rattle, leak or will not lock are rarely beyond repair. We diagnose the cause, fix it properly and tell you honestly if a part has reached the end of its life.
If your problem is not listed, describe it to us. Most window faults come down to hardware, glass, seals or alignment, and we carry common parts in the van.
Worn hinges and friction stays make sashes drag on the frame. We adjust or replace them so the window closes freely and seals evenly.
Snapped handles, jammed espagnolette locks and faulty multi-point mechanisms replaced with matching or upgraded parts.
Worn rollers and dirty or damaged tracks are the usual cause. New rollers and a clean track restore smooth movement.
Condensation between panes means the unit seal has failed. We replace the sealed unit without replacing the whole frame.
Perished gaskets, cracked silicone and blocked drainage slots let in air and water. We renew seals and clear drainage paths.
Damaged panes are made safe on the first visit and replaced with glass of the right thickness and type.
We replace single panes, double-glazed sealed units, laminated and toughened safety glass, and obscure or tinted glass for bathrooms and street-facing rooms.
Glass is measured on the first visit, made to size and fitted with new glazing beads or gaskets where needed. Where a pane is a safety risk, we make it secure or board it until the replacement arrives.
Frames move over time as buildings settle and hardware wears. A sash that is a few millimetres out of line will leak, whistle in the wind and wear its lock.
We re-pack and realign sashes, replace gaskets and weather strips, renew external silicone, repair minor frame damage and treat timber where rot has started. If a frame is too far gone, we show you the evidence and give you a separate quote for replacement.
A quick guide to what we usually recommend. We will always explain the reasoning for your specific windows.
Send a photo and a short description of the fault. We will tell you what is likely wrong and when we can come.
